About Ms. Shumgart

A Tamaqua Area School District alumna (2015), Ms. Shumgart's passion for art blossomed during her high school years. This led her to pursue higher education, beginning with two years of Fine Arts at Lehigh Carbon Community College and culminating in a B.S. in Art Education with a Painting concentration (Magna Cum Laude, 2019) and a Master's Degree in Art Education (2025), both from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

 

At home, Ms. Shumgart enjoys the playful energy of her five cats and three dogs. While she values time spent with family and friends, she also appreciates the quiet comfort of a nap with her many animal companions.

 

Ms. Shumgart's artistic explorations include watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting, alongside weaving, photography, and ceramics. She actively practices her craft in her home pottery studio and shares her knowledge and enthusiasm by teaching classes at the local arts center.
